Increase to Air Pilots Award 2020

As a result of the Fair Work Commission Annual Wage Review 2023-24 decision, the minimum wage rates under the Award will increase by 3.75% from the first full pay period on or after 1 July.

From 1 July, the Air Pilots Award now includes:

•  Loss of Licence Allowance increases to $2,753 p.a.

•  Meal related allowances increase to $34.19 (breakfast), $38.31 (lunch) & $65.85 (dinner). The incidentals allowance remains at $27.97.

Also from 1 July, the required employer superannuation contributions increases to a minimum of 11.5% in accordance with the Superannuation Guarantee (Administration) Act 1992 (Cth).

The AFAP expects that employers will pass on increases to Award-based pilots from the first full pay period on or after 1 July 2024.

This increase in Air Pilots Award wages will not affect commercial pilots who are covered by an enterprise agreement.
