Qantas Short Haul EA Update No 8

Qantas Short Haul EA Update No 8

As you all would now be aware, the in-principle agreement for the SHEA offer between the AIPA negotiating team and the Company has not been supported by either the AFAP QPC or the AIPA CoM.

To assist in planning our next steps, today we asked the Company negotiating team if they would be revising their offer before either returning to negotiations with the AFAP and AIPA or putting the current offer to a direct pilot vote. The Company’s answer was categorically no, they would not be making a revised offer.

Our next step will be to re-survey our members again to strengthen our representative position in further negotiations with the Company and ensure we have current and up to date data to support our negotiations.

We will release the SH survey later this week and the survey will be open for one week. We encourage all of our members to please complete the survey.

For any inquiries regarding Short Haul bargaining or other matters at Qantas please contact the AFAP legal and industrial team of Senior Legal/ Industrial Officer Pat Larkins (patrick@afap.org.au), Senior Industrial Officer Chris Aikens (chris@afap.org.au), or Executive Director Simon Lutton (simon@afap.org.au).
