Captain Shabbir Parekh has been a member of the Eastern Pilot Council (EPC) since starting at QantasLink in 2008.

After flying the Dash-800 turboprops from the QantasLink Melbourne base for more than 15 years and stepping up to serve as an EPC representative, Shabbir felt it was time to also take on a welfare rep role.

He is motivated to look out for issues that affect the pilot group’s welfare and to help provide guidance to other pilots at Eastern.

Now a Melbourne-based captain, Shabbir started out in general aviation having spent four years based in Albury. He has also been a flight instructor.
