Shane has been in aviation since 1992. He started his career as a flight instructor at Essendon Airport. In the late nineties he moved into the pastoral industry as a mustering pilot on remote cattle stations. In 2005 he worked in the Northern Territory, flying charter out of Kathrine and Alice Springs. In 2007 accepted a position with the RFDS south east section, where he is currently employed.

Shane has been with the AFAP welfare program since 2015 . He also in a committee member and convention representative on the National Council.
