Troy has been actively involved with the AFAP welfare effort for nearly ten years as a pilot peer support officer and with the AFAP Helicopter Council. His interest in peer support comes from some ‘pretty tough life experiences’ and a strong desire to help others navigate their way through and around their issues and life challenges.

Troy also has a keen interest in mentorship by way of helping new people into the industry and succeed in their chosen field and always being a point of contact for help and advice.

Ultimately, Troy would like to further assist his industry colleagues by eventually becoming a trustee on the AAP mutual benefit fund and serve as welfare director at the right time. A pilot with twenty plus years’ experience in the industry as a pilot and former aircrewman and rescue crewman, he is currently flying the AW139 helicopter in offshore operations.
