SENIOR INDUSTRIAL OFFICER
James is based in the AFAP’s Queensland office and works primarily with member pilots from Alliance, Sunstate, Royal Flying Doctor Service, Regional Airlines (Rex) and Virgin Group.
With a depth of expertise in providing advice to members, James provides representation in a wide variety of matters including enterprise bargaining, industrial disputes, unfair dismissals, and various other employment matters.
He joined the AFAP in 2016 with more than ten years’ experience as an industrial officer with two large national unions - the Liquor, Hospitality and Miscellaneous Workers' Union (now United Voice) and the Australian Services Union.
In addition to his industrial background, James has previous experience in the aviation industry having worked in Air Traffic Control for ten years. He has also held a Commercial Pilot’s Licence (Fixed Wing).
